Kanga Pan Bush Camp
Mana Pools National Park | Zimbabwe | Installed April 2011

Water Heating
Solar water heaters of the latest technology vacuum tube systems for all the camps hot water needs for guests and staff bathing and showering.  This has eliminated the need for wood fires for heating water and thus limiting the use of indigenous Mopane woodlands.  This fits in with the camps new policy to drive towards a true eco-tourism experience. Treated timber poles were used to construct raised tank stands for mounting of the Solar Geysers so as to position them in good sunlight without having to cut down or remove any natural bush.  We supplied Non pressure and pressurized geysers ranging from 135 liter up to 250 liter.

Lighting Systems
Solar lighting systems for lighting for guests tents, dining and cooking areas and the lights for the staff quarters and workshops. Thus eliminating the use of noisy generators for lighting purposes and adding to the unique experience of the area, especially at night. It has also done away with the need for kerosene lamps for lighting in the tents and etc. thus reducing risks of fires. The Solar Panels where mounted onto the same stands as the Solar geysers.

Power Systems
Solar power systems for power for use in the offices for computers, printers and etc. It also provides a means for clients to charge battery and cameras for their safari.

Waste Management
At the end of the contract all packing materials, paper, plastic, cardboard and all waste material had to be removed from the National park in line with the environmental clause in the concessions contract.
